Ifagbemi Awamaridi, the factional chairman and governorship candidate for the Labour Party in Lagos State, has warned that attempts to usurp his authority as the “bonafide chairman and governorship candidate of the party” will result in the rejection of Peter Obi‘s bid for the presidency.
Awamaridi claimed he was not replaced nor dismissed through any legal process, according to a phone interview with Punch on Friday.
He continued by mentioning that the topic was still the subject of a legal lawsuit.
Regarding the roles of the chairman and the governorship candidate, the Lagos State chapter of the LP has been mired in a leadership conflict.

On Friday, Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike and his friends Samuel Ortom of Benue State and Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State left for London, United Kingdom.
Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo State, who is now on holiday abroad, is anticipated to join them.
