Why We Shouldn’t Expect Massive Development As Gov Wike Commissioned RSU Campus In Etche

[ad_1]

People should not just expect massive turnaround in development following the establishment of Rivers State University Campus in Etche.

Governor Wike commissioned the newly built Etche campus of the Rivers State University yesterday. Says Rivers State would no longer give its support cheaply but any Presidential candidate that would get Rivers State’s support must clearly state what he would do for the state in return.

You see the citing of these Faculty Buildings of the Rivers State University in Etche, Emohua and Ahoada, it is one of the few things Governor Wike has done that we actually commend.

Not because we think so highly of the structures, but because citing these faculties outside of Obio/Akpor and PHC has a little (though very little) connection with my tightly held idea that bringing development to other parts of Rivers State is the only sustainable way to decongest Port Harcourt and Obioakpor local government areas.

But you see, the way many people are celebrating this Wike’s achievement, and insisting that it will speedily bring massive development into Etche, Ahoad and Emohua is something that is not agreeable that much

Reason being that people should be reminded that there is a Campus of the IAUOE in Ndele and we have not seen the development it has brought to the people ever since it was established there.

So Judge for yourselves whether it is the citing of a building that will automatically and aggressively bring this much needed development people are talking about.

Just imagine that, in addition to this or even before it, Governor had invested in establishing economically viable Companies in these places like is done in other states.

Of course they will tell us that another Governor cannot do that one as Wike cannot do everything. And we agree. But as we say that Wike has done well here.
