Wike’s Loyalists Shun Atiku, Boycott His Meeting With 2023 PDP Governorship Candidates In Abuja

Some Prominent PDP Governorship Candidates in the forthcoming 2023 General Election shunned the meeting the Party’s Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and PDP Gubernatorial Candidates. The Ex-Vice President met the Governorship Hopefuls in his Abuja Residence on Saturday. Atiku who briefed Newsmen after the Meeting revealed that he met with PDP Governorship Candidates to discuss how the party could mobilize Nigerians behind it ahead of the fortcoming Elections. 
It will be recalled that Wike and his Loyalists have been at loggerheads with Atiku aftermath of the PDP Presidential Primary held May 2022. Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State who is a close ally of Wike shunned the Meeting. Also absent include the PDP Governorship Candidates from Abia, Benue and Rivers State, Uche Ikonne, Titus Uba and Siminialayi Fubara respectively. 
The Trio of Governors Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Samuel Ortom (Benue) and Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia) have been identified with Wike in the quarrel with Atiku.

The Meeting held behind closed doors had in Attendance the PDP Vice-presidential Candidate, Ifeanyi Okowa and Gubernatorial Candidates from Lagos, Plateau, Ebonyi, Borno, Kano, Sokoto among others.
