3 Causes Of Bleeding After Sex.

[ad_1]

It is typical to bleed after intercourse if it is your first time or if it has been a while since your last had intercourse. But if this is not the situation, then bleeding after intercourse can be an indication of a health problem.

According to Healthline, some of the things that lead to bleeding after intercourse are:

1. Vaginal dryness

Female organ dryness can cause bleeding. In addition to the genitourinary syndrome of menopause, other triggers of female organ dryness are:

• having intercourse before being fully stimulated.

• friction while having intercourse.

• douching

• chemicals in feminine hygiene products, laundry detergents, and pools.

• breastfeeding.

• childbirth

• certain medications, such as cold medication, asthma medications, certain antidepressants, and anti-estrogen drugs.

• having your ovaries eliminated.

• chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

• Sjögren’s syndrome, is an inflammatory disease that affects your immune system thereby lowering moisture generated by glands in the body.

2. Infections

Some infections can lead to inflammation of the tissues in the female organ, which may cause bleeding. These are:

• pelvic inflammatory disease, an infection of the reproductive organs in the lower abdomen (fallopian tubes, ovaries, cervix, and womb).

• sexually transmitted infections like chlamydia.

• cervicitis, which is inflammation of the cervix that happens due to an infection.

• vulvovaginitis, which is inflammation of the vulva and the female organ that mostly happens as a result of an infection.

3. Cervical ectropion

Cervical ectropion is seen as benign or not dangerous. It happens when the cell type that normally grows on the inside of the cervix rather develops on the outside. Cervical ectropion may lead to an inflamed area.

This health condition is caused by high female hormone levels. Female hormone help regulate your reproductive system.

However, it is considered a natural variant and seems to happen in adolescents, pregnant women, people using hormonal contraception and people who menstruate.
