Federal Government Urges Universities to contact Philanthropists and Individuals for Funds

The Federal Government had advised the Governing Council of Universities to seek support from Philantrophic Organizations and Individuals for Funds.
While speaking in Abuja on Thursday,8th of September,2022;The Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu gave the advice during the inauguration of the Governing Councils for the Federal University of Agriculture,Abeokuta;Sarwuan Tarka University of Agriculture,Makurdi; and Federal University of Agriculture,Zuru; Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umuahia.
He urged the Councils to come up with other ideas that would generate more revenue outside government allocations. He further stated that the Councils should explore other sources of revenue through Endowments.
“To this end,the Councils should look outwards and enlist the support of the philanthropic organizations and individuals for additional funding of projects in the institutions. I’m addition,the Councils can explore other sources of revenue through Endowments,” he Said.
The Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu has been away for official duties and just came into the country on Monday,5th September for a special meeting with Pro Chancellors and Vice Chancellors which was held on Tuesday,6th September.
