For the first time ever, Rivers Utd was named NPFL winners.

The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) winners Rivers United were defeated 2-1 by Nasarawa United in their play on matchday 35 in Lafia, although they still won the league title.

With three games remaining until the season’s end, the Portharcourt club leads the standings by 10 points.
