PDP Secretary, Debo Ologunagba Reacts As Wike Accuses Atiku Of Having The Backing Of APC Presidency

[ad_1]

Amid ongoing internal turmoil within the nation’s top political opposition platform, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a chieftain of the party, Debo Ologunagba, has come out to react to the recent comments made by Rivers Governor and PDP strongman, Nyesom Wike regarding the unwillingness of the party’s presidential candidate to yield to the demands put forward by his camp.

Recall that while speaking at the commissioning of a project executed by his administration in Rivers on Thursday, Wike alleged that the reason why Atiku is refusing to yield to the demands of the Southern caucus of the party was because his presidential bid was being backed by some persons in Aso Rock. The governor went on to insist that he would expose the identities of the persons in due time.

Quite interestingly, reacting to Wike’s claim during an interview on ARISE NEWS several hours ago, Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Debo Ologunagba neither dismissed nor confirmed the allegation, but rather, stated that the Rivers governor is a smart politician who had in times past referred to the APC as a cancerous party.

“I heard that as well. But I am going to refer to the leader and wonderful man that Wike is to the party. That is why I want to emphasize that our interest in the party right now is to go through every channel of reconciliation with him. But I recall that Governor Wike sometime ago declared in public that when a person has a headache, they cannot go and look for cancer as a cure. And he said the APC is cancerous. Of cause, Wike is a smart man, a smart politician. I am sure those comments were made in a context that says that overall, he would prefer that we sit down in the PDP and resolve all issues. We believe he will,” Mr. Ologunagba said.
