Peter Obi Is Swelling Igbo’s Political Relevance -Umahi

Ebonyi State governor, Dave Umahi, has predicted victory for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in next year’s elections, picking the candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, as his second favourite.
Umahi disclosed this on Friday to State House correspondents after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
According to him, he met the President to invite him to commission the new Ebonyi State Governor’s Lodge, which construction his administration just completed.
He also said the current Peter Obi political movement would go a long way to prepare the environment that will make an Igbo presidency possible in the future.

Buhari Set To Visit S/East

President Muhammadu Buhari is scheduled to visit Imo State in September to officially open some capital projects done by Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State.
The projects include the Imo State House of Assembly complex, two of the 3-R administration’s major roads, the dualized 53-kilometre Owerri/Okigwe road and the 36-kilometre Owerri/Orlu road.
This was made known by Declan Mbadiwe Emelumba, the state commissioner for information and strategy on Wednesday.
He confirmed the president’s second visit to Imo, adding that Imo residents could not wait to meet the president.
Era Of Election Result Manipulation Is Over -INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has assured that the days of manipulation of election results are over in Nigeria.
The Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu spoke on Friday in Abuja at the Launch of the Election Results Analysis Dashboard (ERAD) Report on Electronic Transmission of Results organised by Yiaga Africa.
Yakubu noted that the new Electoral Act, 2022, empowered it to adopt electronic means for both accreditation and results management.

Military Rescue 3 More Chibok Girls

The Joint Military Taskforce in the Northeast, Operation Hadinkai, has rescued three additional Chibok girls alongside their children in Borno State
General Commanding Officer (GOC), 7 Division of the Nigerian Army, Major General Wahid Shaibu, disclosed this while briefing newsmen at the command’s headquarters in Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri on Friday.
He said sustained military operations throughout the theatre had paved the way for most of the surrendered Boko Haram terrorists and provided an opportunity for some of the Chibok girls to escape.
