On the second day of the Russian invasion, troops are approaching the capital Kyiv, as residents take shelter in subways.
The human cost of the invasion has been starkly shown in images emerging from Ukraine’s cities.
People’s homes have been damaged, while many have been forced into subways that are doubling up as bomb shelters.
