According to a Tribune report, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, donated 50 million Naira to flood victims in Jigawa State on Tuesday while paying the governor a courtesy call.
The politician from Lagos stated that he travelled to Jigawa State to show his support for the flood victims and that his donation was intended to help those who lost loved ones and property in the disaster.
While he was still speaking, Bola Ahmed Tinubu requested that the Almighty God offer the departed souls eternal peace and console them during this difficult time.
The former governor of Lagos State added that if elected president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, he would do more for Jigawa State and pledged that the Federal Government will do everything possible to prevent a repeat of the calamity.
Alhaji Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar, the governor of Jigawa State, thanked Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his generosity and assured him that as long as he is in power, the lives and security of his people will always come first.
In the 2023 presidential election, Atiku Abubakar of the PDP and Peter Obi of the Labour Party would face off against Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
