The General Overseer of Household of God church, Pastor Chris Okotie has claimed that he has never lost an election in Nigeria.
It would be recalled that Okotie has contested for the presidential election several times under Fresh Party.
However, speaking in an exclusive interview with BBC Pidgin on Tuesday, Rev Okotie said he didn’t lose any election. According to him, it is the political party that he belonged to that actually lost.
“People keep telling me that I lost election but I have never lost an election in Nigeria, it is the party that lost” the man of God told BBC pidgin.
According to him Nigerians don’t vote for candidates, they go after the parties. “I know how these things work in this country. Nigerians don’t vote for personalities. They don’t care about the person that is representing the party. They vote for party regardless of the person that is contesting under the political party.” he said.
